Antibacterial paper of Radeče papir nova – gold award of the Posavje region 2021 for innovation

We are very happy and proud that the commission of the Posavje Chamber of Commerce and Industry has ranked our antibacterial paper among the four gold medalists – out of eleven applications – for the best innovation of the Posavje 2021.

Antibacterial paper was created as a result of consideration how to reduce the spread of the disease during a coronavirus outbreak. And also on a basis of linking the paper industry research and development team with microbiological laboratories in Slovenia and abroad to achieve best results by including a minimal active ingredient supplement. The paper was treated with an antimicrobial agent which has already known antibacterial and fungicidal properties and is primarily used in the textile industry. The test results showed successful reduction of bacteria and coronavirus.

Such protected paper is without a doubt improving the quality of life and safety of people, as it can reduce the spread of the virus through paper in everyday life. Passing documents and thus paper from hand to hand also means the danger of microbial transmission, so we recommend the use of antibacterial paper in environments such as medical institutions, schools, administrative offices, banks, post offices.

The paper itself is sold as office paper, but can be used for a variety of products such as envelopes, notebooks, pads, as well as self-adhesive paper products.
